    Default cavalry formations

    So I was just wondering what the actual gameplay benifits are for the different cavalry formations. I know what they did in real life (wedge making charges more decisive and diamond allowing for quick manuevering). Do they do these in the game? And by how much exactly? Will I ever want to simply leave them in the default formation?

    Also, does anyone dislike the new fire when running ability of light dragoons and the sort? I find it annoying that they still fire even when going into melee, as they often hit the horses i send them to support.

    If you are in a diamond or wedge formation, your horsemen hold together in a group after contact better. Less so with just a block.


    Diamond head on is the same as wedge head on, essentially. However, diamond formations hold together when turning better than wedges.

    Compromise and situational.

    TO answer Sqire, yeah the cavalry formations do in-game what they did in real life. One of the few parts of the game that works pretty well.

    I always feel that the basic formation is best for running down routers. The wider front seems to give you more kills faster.

    For some reason, I think the number of men killed from flying in the air if you put block, but eventually, it is is better when in wedge or diamond formation.
    What the hell happened to this WORLD?
