Hussars?

Why is there no hussar unit for France?

Well the Hussars were used by Napoleon, and thus my inquiry as to why they left them out. Is all

If I am not wrong he has one special "Hussar-Elite" unit. It can be only recruited one time...

Umm good question i have not noticed this ......But i think i know why.. DLC, they will be releasing hussars through steam, oh unless you have the imperial edition then you do get hussars. but my guess is that there will be a host of new units to by from DLC. French 8th hussars would be nice and British/Scotsgreys, Ponsinby's boys.

no hussars? when napoleon had at least 13 regiments of them? this game gets funnier and funnier!

That 5e Regiment de Hussards is not included unfortunately. How do you unlock them?

This is why I didnt purchase NTW off STEAM Mighty. I was tempted though as the STEAM version had the Royal Scots Greys but it was a toss up between having the five elite regiments (Inc Connaught Rangers) or the Royal Scots Grays.

All the retail versions have both the Heros of the Napoleonic wars and the 5 Elite Regiments where as the STEAM version only has the Heros of the Napoleonic Wars.

Some said that I unlock them in a certain campaign provided I have the certain technologies. I'm waiting to see. Do you have this Hussar unit?

Though my whole issue isnt just about this 5e Regiment de Hussards, its about France and not having the ability to recruit regular Hussars

I am guessing it's because the differences between the Hussars and Chasseurs a Cheval in actual usage by the player would be minimal, same goes for Britain with Light Dragoons. I doubt Hussars will be added in DLC because this has always been for "special units", none of the previous DLC added generic units to faction rosters and I doubt they will start now. In a month or so someone will mod them in, if you look at the mod threads some people are already deciphering the new DB code.

I have them on the single player battles but I havent started a French Campaign yet so I dont know if they are on to start with or if you have to unlock them.

I do know what you mean about the french not having Hussar units as I was pretty disappointed with the GB turnout on the game as well, No Coldstream Guards and the like.

I have always found it odd that the faction that boasted the most famous Hussars and Cavalrymen of the era typically gets the smallest selection and the biggest ommisions.France devoid of Hussars has been an issue since Empire oddly and still going here,yet they make readily available from the Start Chevau Leger Lanciers which didnt come into existence until the end game...and further I am not sure if we will be seeing Hussars as DLC as we already have the 5e Hussards..I am pretty sure we will see the Red Lancers though and if so that will be ample consolation

I'm very sad about this. Hussars were so important to the French Army.
