Well, quite a pickle you've put me in. You went ahead and released a wonderful game, and now tomorrow Silent Hunter V comes out. I've not even begun to dent the playability yet of NTW.

So much to do, so little time.

Yep. Must be connect to the internet whenever you want to play the game. Plus SHV only has one type of sub, as opposed to bunches in the previous title, and only covers 1939-43. Plus you want to talk about catering to the casual player? Take away the fancy new (and completely un-needed) walk around your sub graphics and you have a tarted-up flash game in complexity.

basically they'r askingpeople for downloading and craking it :\

seriously, i don't get why producers do those crappy thing... sell ur game. who want to buy it will buy it, who doesn't want won't buy it or will download it...

by using such systems they give many problems to those who buy it legally and none to those who download it illegally... seriously, 10 years of failures and they REALLY didn't learn from theyr mistakes

It won't make me crack it, but it will make me not buy it. I started computer gaming back in the Commordore 64/Apple II days. I have purchased hundreds of computer games over the years. This type of copy protection is a really bad trend. It makes it easier for me to play NTW and not worry about the bad timing with other releases though. I was originally enthusiastic about Assassin's Creed II and other Ubisoft games, but I won't buy any until they come up with a less hurtful to rightful customers policy than they have now. Kudos to CA for giving me an option to play offline on my laptop during lunchtime. The timing of the release would have been bad had those games not had the online at all times requirement.

... Who the hell is purchasing SHV? Honest to God it was a fantastic game (III), but apparently some have ISPs that far exceed mine in service and uptime.

Waiting for my SHV to come in the mail today.

The forums suggest its buggy though, so I might have to slip back into NTW if that is so.

Same here, I've been playing sub sims since the "Aces of the Deep" days. This will be the first Silent Hunter title I've passed on. UBIsoft can keep their DRM.
