Generals
I´m very happy with N:Total War, I think it´s a vast improvement over E:TW. However, I´m finding the limited availability of Generals kind of bizarre. Even if the special historical characters should be limited, you should also get the option of recruiting "regular" generals. Right now I am finding that I have armies with no commander in them due to the limited availability. It would not be ahistorical either. I think originaly there were 14 Marshalls of France to start off with, and as far as generals goes, there were a few hundreds. I think Napoleon lost 15 just in Borodino, and had several appointed to different posts throughout Europe, not to mention staff in Paris.
What do you guys think?

Re: Generals
I agree - I already modded the game to address that (more general per military building, one new one every turn instead of every 4 turns)

Re: Generals
Hmm... another thing to add is that despite their intentions to limit the Marshalls available, I just recruited a second Andre Massena with the exact same characteristics and traits! I certainly hope this is patched soon. What I would really like is to take good care of these marshalls and keep them within the walls of a certain operational area, say for example Paris, and fight all the minor battles with "regular" generals, fighting only the most important battles with marshalls, as I have lost a couple (despite my best efforts to keep them safe- though it is after all, a battlefield-).

Re: Generals
Nappy lost upwards of 50 general in that battle.
i have never had problems with lack of generals in ntw so far tho... but I also do not fight 5 fronts at a time.. most is 2 fronts, 2 generals each front
