Default Seasonal Sea Ice in ETW?

Hi, I'm pretty new here, so I may be posting this in the wrong place (I did do several searches before posting). This post goes in the "Wouldn't It Be Cool" category (at least I think it would be cool). What if there was a mod that replicated seasonal sea ice in the north? Wouldn't that be cool? Ships would be affected by being frozen into the sea ice if they are too far north in the winter (and maybe have a chance of being crushed by the ice), and troops could exploit the ice for movement (maybe include seasonal ice on large freshwater lakes too?). Anyway, it was just a thought.

Very rarely does the oceans freeze over. Most of the ETW map is open sea were the currents keep the ocean ice-free, with drifting iceflakes instead. Even though this has been an incredibly cold season in Norway, you don't have to go far out in our fjord before it's perfectly safe for the passenger ferry to sail. Where I live however we have ice, but industrial boats can still plow their way through it. I doubt an 18th century warship could though...

Hey, Ishoss. On an aside, Norway is one of my very favorite countries in the world! I have traveled and climbed there on several occasions. Regarding the game and a seasonal sea ice feature, I guess I was really thinking about Hudson Bay, Labrador and northern Newfoundland, where ice can have a very real impact on ships (just ask Henry Hudson! lol).
