Please help

I am running windows 7 x86 and SS 6.2. I am about 110 turns into my early era game. When I went to load it today Total War closed and Windows said there was an "unspecified error". This happens on my save and the autosave. When I start a new game though it loads fine.

If anyone could please give me a little advise I would really appreciate it!

It sounds as though your save game file has corrupted, which I think means that your campaign is completely screwed. But there could be some geniuses out there who might be able to help you...

Has the Golden Horde arrived yet? I believe there was a bug in their spawning, corrupting save games so you can't load. But I thought it was for RR/RC only, not sure though.

Thanks for the help. I don't believe that the golden horde has arrived but I am using RR/RC. I thought it was weird that both the autosave and the regular save would both become corrupted.

If there are any other ideas please send them my way.

Joris is correct i think when i was playing as the knights templar i had an empire spaning almost the entire south east corner of the map and then it crashed soooo there ya go

If that is the case, then that sucks. I was Denmark and really having fun. Is there anything I can do to try and prevent this from happening again?

the new RR/RC feb 28th update has fixed this error now.

Newest patch includes a fix. Check the RR/RC forum. But unfortunately it won't affect save games as the but was in the script

I had the same error with RR/RC compilation during my Sicily campaign. It is caused by the spawning scripts for the Mongols, Teutonic Order and maybe some other events, but the error will not always occur. I was able to load save around it because I have always at least 3 different saves.

I advise always to have more than a few saves when playing mods, because some other mods are plagued by this issue too (for example Broken Crescent might crash too during scripted events).
