As Britain, has anybody seen a naval invasion?

Now the intro video indicates history can be changed in this way. But will the AI make it so?
Has anybody experienced this?

All the time. And they can land without having to go through a port either. I've seen them land all over different countries, but I'll tell you a few times they've landed on the faction I'm playing.

(These were all full stacks too) I've seen Britain land Wellington by Caen and Rennes, the Ottomans landed at Toulouse, Naples and Sicily have both landed on Corsica, and Sweden landed in Belgium

WHAT? are you serious? that is a long boat ride.. lol

The Ottomans sailed round to gibraltar in my campain on H/H but then just sat there off the coast until I moved a big enough navy round to sink them

Hehe well in my campaign if your not with me, your my enemy. Austria and Prussia the 2 second biggest powers with the exception of Russia have cried to be allies with me when I was about to attack them. Russia will help me defeat Prussia and I'll defeat Austria simply because all those powers are afraid of me.

I've had a couple of French attacks on Britain, but never seen anyone try to attack Ireland or any of the Mediterranean islands.

In my game as GB, its 1806 and no one has really invaded anyone successfully.

Napoleon has totally stalled in North Italy, against the Austrians, and Russia has the Ottomans cornered in Greece. The German States are still independent, and Wellington doesnt sit idle. He spent 1805 raiding the northern French coast to stall Napoleon.

Brussels was burned and destroyed, and Holland and Brittany surrended to become independent states, at peace with Napoleon, who probably has some kind of mental disorder, since he wanders aimlessly in the Alps.

All french ports are blockaded, and all Atlantic traffic is controlled by huge british fleets. In early 1806 Wellington landed on the Iberian Peninsula and conquered Portugal and Spain. Two undefeated armies are now leading a two-pronged advance to Paris. Poor Napoleon looks doomed!

His coalition of 4 - France, Spain, Switzerland and the Ottoman Empire - are losing the war with the coalition of Prussels, Austria, Russia, Great Britain, Sweden, the Italian and the German States. The world war seems to be coming at an end! For now...

Nope but playing as Britain you should maintain a strong navy to avoid this

In my Campaign of the Coalitions, England made peace with France. After Greece rebelled from Austrian rule, GB invaded Greece.

I'm so glad to see NTW start off with this part functioning. Of course there will be arguements that it is too often/not often enough, but at least it WORKS. The lack of naval invasions was one of the big initial disappointments with ETW.

portugal invaded Croatia (They were rebels)

Another Ottoman invasions here for me, but it got lost in a English storm, if you know what I mean.

They had a 'fleet' of a couple 30 gun ships, 4 dhows and 5 gally along with two guide missile frigates (bomb ketch), I slaughtered them all up until two volly's from the bomb Ketch immediately sunk two of my frigates, a 32 and a 38 gun (wtf?) with perfect accuracy. Was actually close to landing their full stack off the Irish coast because a single Brig escaped the battle with the army, I managed to use a 58 gun Indiaman (again, wtf? Galleon?) to kill it, the ottomites all drowned, some probably washed up in Ireland and set up fast food restaurants as it was right on the coast .

As revenge for the insult, I started to dominate the med, landed an army completely unopposed to Greece and liberated it (it was undefended), new trade parter to replace the Ottomans. I doubt I'll ever be invaded again though, I've locked down all French ports, liberated Amsterdam and Brussels and set up two trade partner protectorates (they both have two armies each now...) to block France. The Spanish I just locked down their dockyards, I'm still letting them trade for now. Seeing as I'm holding the balearic isles and Gibraltar down, France's med ports are no use to them. I kinda miss N.Africa and the middle east though, hard to stay active in the eastern med without a port to repair at, prefer Greece as it's own nation/trade partner.

In my coalition campaign, i´m with the brits, i´ve landed on gibraltar to defend it from spain, and landed on rennes as the first of the lands im liberating to annoy napoleon. I´ve left the UK defensless with anyone but gentlemans and spys lol. No one attempted to invade it. In ETW no one ever invaded the uk also... But in history napoleon would have much more to loose if he tried out to conquered uk than the other countries in europe by land, who were much more easily conquered has history proven... except for russia of course.

Playing as Russia I saw Britain invade france at Marceille and Torino. Pretty cool imo. I hope i get to experience a naval invasion.
