(Full Album) The Velvet Underground & Nico - The Velvet Underground

This is my 4th in my series of posting full albums on TWC.

Released in 1967, their debut album reached only 171 in the album charts and not even garned reviews from professional critics. Led by enigmatic frontman Lou Reed, and produced by eccentric artist Andy Warhol, the album delved into territory not ventured into by bands at the time, the album featuring explict descriptions of drug addiction, prostitution and violence.
Despite being criminally ignored by the public and critics alike, the band would be later recognized as trailblazers, forward thinkers and one of the most influential bands of all time, influencing bands still to this day.

Awesome album. I was going to list a few of my favourite songs, then I realised I'd named half the album. I have their second album too, it's also great but not quit as good. I should get some more.

Get their 3rd and 4th. They're probably better than their second one imo.






All four of their albums are 10/10.

I love Sunday Morning. I should really give the whole album another going over really.

White Light/White Heat is much more experimental than "Nico" is.

Awesome album (as are all four by The Velvet Underground). My favorite is the self-titled third album by a hair over the others. Still not many people seem to listen to them though (at least people that I know). It is always a surprise when I see them on someone else's iPod.

That's the other one I have, not the second

'Candy Says' is my favourite VU song overall I think.

You know whats weird, the third album isnt on iTunes, but the other three are. I also like some of Lou Reed's post-VU stuff, though not as much.

I dont see it, but it is a moot point since I have it anyway.

I have now decided all four albums are equal, and my favorite is basically dependent on which one I have listened to most recently.
