new drivers.... 196.21 right or beta? What did you add in the control panel?
I just used what the driver was on the site for my card, I updated through the windows devices/update after I downloaded it.
You add a game manually in 3d settings through the path steam/commonapps/ etc.
196.21 just checked.
I ran into a problem of the driver not updating even though it said it installed. I would check through dxdiag and it wouldn't take. I went through a few tries through device manager with the new download and it finally stuck. SLI works great and I'm getting 42 fps zoomed out 30 zoomed in during battle.

I got the new driver, made sure it was installed.
Went to nvidia control panel (right click desktop) manage 3d settings then manually add NTW, steam/apps/coomonapps or something, select the NTW exe.
Apply.

Yes, I enabled "force alternate frame rendering 2" to the games SLI setting.
Search dxdiag in start/search, select display, and look at the end numbers of the driver, or go through device manager.
Or Run/dxdiag if you're on an older OS.

Ok so I tried out force alternate frame rendering 2 ( I was trying jut 1) and wow.... SLI finally. I have been combing these forums and other total war forums using half fixs but this is the ticket. I hope they release a profile or a patch or a driver or something to make this standard for all. My performance was playable but now its perfect. Just tested it on a massive battle and did not slow at all.
Thanks alot, this should stickied I think..
what is SLI ?
Running two or more similar GPUs (Video/ Graphic Cards) together simultaneously to enable better performance on optimised games and applications. It's like; two of 'em are twice as good as one.![]()
...............................
Some graphics cards (like the Nvidia GTX295 or the 9800GX2 card) are in fact two cards in one (two graphic processors).
