    Default Rome: Total war problem

    Ok, so I've been playing Rome Total war since forever, never a problem.
    Recently, now, whenever I start the game, or when it switches from map to battle map the screen flickers for like 5 minutes....then starts working again.

    Could it be because my direct x updated?

    yeh same thing happened to me wiv MTW2 i don't know how to fix it through
