    Default Third Age developers:

I have just downloaded Call of Warhammer, and many things said to be impossible, are now being used in that mod! Here are some examples of that:

-Two handed general in a one-handed battalion.
-Unique seige weapons for each faction
-Unique buildings (I know this one is being worked on)

If you guys want, I'll add more as I play more of their mod. But I made this thread to make the devs aware that they could asked the CoW developers how to do certain things, so TATW could be that much better. Thanks.

There was recently a similar thread like this (just look on the second page ), so i'm pretty sure the team is aware of the mod you mentioned right now. Still its not the right way to discuss the features of another mod on the TATW forum. TATW has its own identity, features, fanbase, etc... you name it and should accordingly stick to it (doesn't say there isn't room for improvement ).

Maybe i dont want those things... Jk

I doubt the TA team want to spend their time trying to imitate other mods by trying to create these things. I would rather the team keep improving the mod in therir own way because so far its pretty damn awesome!

For me I do want unique siege weapons for different culture type if not different factions. But as Ranger says, This game should be unique/different to CoW. I'm a Warhammer fan since I was young but I want TATW based on LoTR lore as CoW is based on WH lore. The modders are doing a great job...........just give me what I want...Joke!

One thing I'm glad on is that TATW didn't go the cartooney look as CoW (don't get me wrong, it works for it), that's what's putting me off in playing it too much. But they do offer different flavours...

Its a mix match of stuff influenced by it, which implements some aspects of (real) old world cultures. What I meant is that its should be more influenced wholly by LOTR, although I like Peter Jackson adaptation of it...

    @Soul Reapir:

I know what your intentions was, I'm sure KK et al is looking into further developments for the next update. we just have to wait for it to come until we can truly request for stuff that we think is lacking or could be implemented.

    Orcs? Elves? Dwarves (Dwarfs)? Hobbits?

at least TATW could benefit from implementing throwing axes from COW

That reminds me of people and friends that tell me sometimes:

Old? Since when 1983 is old? In all probability Tolkien already had the idea of middle earth in his head already in the 1920's and his first published work set in middle earth was in 1937, and his main work Lotr was published in 1954-55 and has served as inspiration for basically every RPG game and settings like Dungeons and dragons and tabletop games such as warhammer.

The most obvious parallels are the races: elves, orcs and dwarves, they were all introduced by Tolkien.

Harry Potter has so many parallels with lotr that it borders ripoff.

Doesn't the op mean siege machines like siege towers and rams?

    He most certainly does.

Anyway, since MBA and LL are both in the dev team and have responded here we can assume that tatw developers got the "memo".

Now excuse me, I'm going to Stephen Hawking's place of residence to tell him that the LHC has been built (like two years ago). Because he needs to hear it from me. Otherwise he's clueless. Yep. Totally clueless.

Yea I know the name is terrible, but it's not really finished.

haha thank you. Guys, read the sig please. I've been a fan since the beggining, by NO means do I want to turn this into another mod. Haha. No I was merely letting the developers know of certain features CoW has, that during the making of this mod (which many of you were not here to see) were deemed impossible. If a similar thread was created, my bad, but I'm just letting the developers know that some of these things are possible.

(btw, TATW is a FAR better mod of the two)

BC has done it long ago.

There is nothing special in this one, siege unit is like any other unit and they can have variable stats and recruitment availability. Just because no one was arsed to reskin or re-model trebuchets, catapults and ballistas before doesn't mean there is any breakthrough done here, besides the obvious talent of the WH team. Still, a nice touch, especially on the gunpowder artillery.

If you talk about battle map unique buildings, then WH team takes no credit for this ... it's an ongoing research done by many people, which leaps and jumps beyond any specific mod. Editing settlements and collision/pathfinding zones is far from complete either.

On the buildings: Isn`t it since long possible to edit/retexture buildings? (I think thats what cow did..)

But creating and placing new buildings causes the most problems. I don`t play Cow anymore, so could you post some screens?

    Mordor's ballistas ARE re-modeled
for all other factions it wouldn't make much sense...
