drop in battles: can invite a specific friend?

By default, the drop in search is set for "friends only" and can be changed to apply to "everyone". Is it possible to invite a specific friend rather than anyone from the friends' list who happens to play NTW at the time?

i hope so... or its console no hope..

anyone know the answer to this?

just go into steam,right click your friends avatar thingy and select invite friend,just like you would in a mp game lobby.

every time i try the above, it says unspecified error, unable to join game.... is there any other way?

Can you play your friend in a normal mp match because some people are still having problems getting connection with each other.

My special friend? I thought only my wife and I knew about him! I can't imagine he would be interested in NTW, but if you really want to play with him, I'll pass the word along.

have u actually be successful... or is this merely an assumption??? we have tested this with a variety of people and have never gotten it to work.

Make it so your already searching for a friend when you send the invite,spector11b joined mine so if he see's this tread maybe he will say if he did anything from his side.

I suspect, he was the only friend of yours with NTW open and residing on the strategy map (that's where the invites pop up). So, the search engine picked him up, not the invite.

I had about 20 friends playing at the time and i think he was playing mp battles, i did ask him before i sent the invite if he wanted to play,so i am thinking he might have selected join game off my avatar while i was searching instead of accepting my invite.

thats a pity i want to play drop in with a specific friend...
