Default 2 Questions which have nothing to do with each other.

    A. Just curious if its possible or even worth being able to have advanced units recruitable before 1220, such as byzantine infantry which they had well before that.
and B. I read that someone just "gave" their generals titles such as war council or the privy seal. Is there a certain way to do that or if anyone has a link to the methods of these different titles that would be much appreciated also. Thanks

    A. Unless you're using submods the ability to build particular units is entirely based on the level of building. Byzantine infantry is seen as a middle tier unit and is therefore unlikely to be able to be recruited from the beginning, even though it WOULD have been one of the mainstays of the Byzantine army. If you are looking to get units is their correct timeperiods, regardless of Settlement size, then you should probably check the submods forums.

    B. You can give your generals specific traits by typing specific commands into Chat. If you google Medieval total war cheats you'll find a whole bunch there.

To the 1st question. In stainless steel vanilla, if you can build the walls you can have the units.
