A Brit with Steam Issues

N:TW just came through the post from amazon and when I try to install it the reg code it comes up with "This Steam product is not available in your country" which is fricking odd as my desk is covered with stuff from the Imperial Edition. So is there any way of playing before it unlocks (which is 11PM GMT)?

I normally dont have a problem with steam but this is hardly fair as some of my fellow country men can play the game whilst other cant...

Yep...I've got the same message,would've been nice of them to let us at least load the thing so we can same time when it unlocks.I was just about to start a thread and saw yours.What a drag!

Am having the same issue. Pretty poor show to release it and then we can't use it. I really hope this isn't the sign of things to come...

Unfortunately i've come to the conclusion that pre-ordering TW titles as long as they use STEAM is pointless now.

I'm not too bothered about playing it, but as others have said, I'd at least like to load the damn thing so I don't have to later.

No there is not a way to play the game before it unlocks.

I thought so, like I dont mind that I must wait quite a while for it but its the randomness of who can and who cant that annoys me...

Apparently it was not random, since steam servers took quite a hit when NTW was launched a stratified launch was a reasonable idea, giving all the player the bare minimum of connection, although steam should use p2p this issue should be solved, however by doing this it will angry all its costumers

Steam is currently showing the incorrect activation date for Napoleon Total War. It will be playable in North America from 23 February (As shown) and in Europe from 26 February.
This is a Steam issue which will be resolved shortly.

My copy of Napoleon won't even install. Is that to do with the game not being available yet, or might it be my laptop being stupid? It meets system requirements, it attempts to install system components and then gives up.

I understand that, but does this mean that I cannot even install files from the disc for the time being? If so, bother! but, fair enough. If not, it looks like I might have something wrong with the laptop or game.

the not available in your country is the response from steam, that says I will not install it until it unlocks.

try installing again tomorrow and we'll see, if it doesn't work its because the CD is a bad copy

Never mind chaps, I closed steam and then tried again, it started to install and then changed its mind when i gave it the activation keycod. Looks like I'll be installing this at midnight. Cheers for your help, people!
