anyone ever tried playing Easy/Easy?

im just asking. now that i think about it, the last time i ever played a game (any game lol) in easy difficulty was back in '99 when i first played shogun!.

its been ... (1999 - 2010 = -11)

MINUS ELEVEN FRIGGIN YEARS OMG!

i couldnt bear the thought of playing a game on easy. the whole challenge goes away. and when i played the game and i was first told to play on VH/VH, which i already had, i felt sad.


isnt there a mod somewhere to increase the game difficulty?

ps: not RR/RC, that thing is cakewalk.

The first and last time i played Easy/Easy was the first time i played Med2. With no challenge whatsoever, I changed to Med/Med from there and now only play H/H.

Sadly, I don't know of any mods to increase game difficulty, but you might want to take a browse around the sub-mod forums.

I prefer M/M, no bonuses either way, just me vs the computer. I do sometimes put the campaign difficulty up, but I don't like putting up the battle difficulty because it gives the computer player bonuses, as well as improving AI. Why should I worsen my army?

IIRC M-->VH doesn't improve AI behavior in any way.

Ai has less then 0 money, give money. On easy the AI ALWAYS had less then 0 money.

I play E/E on the first campaign in each Total War game, just so I can get used to the changes (and unlock all the factions). From then on though, just crank up the difficulty and cry as full stack after fullstack attack your vastly numerically inferior armies

You can increase game difficulty via the campaign script, you don't need submods for this. Just give the A.I. for instance more money. To do this:

• open the campaign_script.txt with notepad located in: ...\Medieval II Total War\mods\Third_Age\data\world\maps\campaign\imperial_campaign
• Go to section ;########################### MONEY SCRIPT ##############################
• increase the numbers for each faction on Very Hard to your own taste.
• now quite your crying and prepare for asswhooping

Why don't you give all other units (i.e. AI units) steroid-pumped stats and mod the AI files to give it bajillions in funds if you want a challenge?

I moved up to M/M not too long ago. Like the challenge but might move up to H/H in a few.

I used to play E/E pretty much all the time, but for TATW ( and ETW ) I moved to VH/VH

I find TATW easier on VH/VH than E/E is this just me or does the enemy cheat on E/E???

I used to play VH/VH but got bored of all the full stacks and was starting to auto resolve too much. These days i play VH/M (still too much stacks going around but i don't wanto make the AI have -ve morale so kept it at medium). Too bad CA screwed up so badly on the AI in a game that is so AI dependent. I would've much rather see epic battles happen only very rarely and the AI managing its armies without a garrison script and its economy without always being bankrupt and again relying on regular donations from the script Gods. Sadly this ruins any realism this game had going for me; now that I am over all the eye candy I find myself rarely playing these days.
