One of the few things I really care about. Did they fix the old system, make a new system, or is it going to be pointless playing against a British player in the multiplayer campaign (once they blockade your ports you can never build ships therefore they can never be invaded)?

You considered that a bug. How can you build a ship when you have a fleet of ships sitting outside your port ready to blow anything to hell that tries to move?

And is that the same now? I not sure, but I suspect it is yes.

    1) The sad thing is, you don't even need a fleet, all it took in ETW to prevent a faction from ever building a navy was one stinking sloop. You don't see how this is broken in the Multiplayer Campaign? How could an Austrian player compete with the British, for example, if within a couple of turns the Austrian player could be totally disabled from invading his opponent?

    2) Build fleets in spite of a blockade, that's actually exactly what happened:

Now, a response from someone who actually knows please?

You do realize right that you can use an army to push the fleet out in ETW?

The AI will usually run away then. But your right if your playing a human then he could just blockade it again from the outside.

I think you can build if you have an army in the port? They can still blockade you from the outside though.. Not sure. You must know.

Take a backwater port and Navy SEAL his ass.

Nope, in ETW once they got a sloop parking outside, you can have a full stack in the port but you can't build anything anymore, for the rest of the campaign. I know cause that's what I do to all the AIs that dared to declare war on me. Suffice to say I don't get many naval battles later on. I've also had my own port blockaded by the Mughals when playing Maratha, I didn't want to rush them and they repay me with forever blockades...bastards.

So, can anyone confirm if it's the same in NTW? Personally I think it's a retarded and highly exploitable system.
