Custom Battle Problem

Thanks to whoever takes the time to read this. Everytime I try to start a custom battle I will get to the screen right after the battle gets done loading and it looks like I am able to see the enemy's formations and such from a tactical map kind of presentation, I really don't know what to call this as it's a new thing for total war games. Anyways I click start battle and the screen doesn't change, yet if I move the mouse around I can click on units and such....It's very odd. Any help would be very nice! Thanks in advance

Already done that....twice. Didn't do a thing. Would it be a good idea to post my specs?

The probability is that the drivers of your 4870x2 are the fault, and good lord you have a i7 965, is your rig pre built?

take a look at the ATI thread in the ETW tech forums, they will help you there

and try to change the resolution a bit, and to disable AA in the graphics option menu

No sir I built this thing my self actually. Yeah I know I bought the i7 965 def overkill. So is a graphics card that is a whopping 13 inches long, so long that I could only use 3 of the 4 fan slots cause the card jutted out so much

Yep definitely overkill, but nonetheless good spent if you overclock. which you don't, but hey you can always learn how to do that.

have you done any of the things I said?

Yeah and I know how to overclock and was. But I nearly melted the thing by doing that. I had it up to 4.12 haha. I'm not sure how to cool it down.....it might just be from dust

well you need some serious cooler to take this baby to 4.12, have you tried the mugen 2 from scythe? if you add 1 more fan to it, it can beat any cooler that I know, even some basic water cooling. and add to the point that it is silent

I've always been surprised at how quiet the thing runs. The case itself is massive though. It's the coolermaster stacker 830c I mean the thing is just huge. I have enough of the fans and a huge cpu cooler it's the spacing I think that messes with it. Everything is so big that it's kinda all cramped. I don't think the fan air has anywhere to go really. Do you think adding a little water cooling system is safe and worth it?

I have my old computer with a water cooler for the cpu in the floor. It's the only way I could play in the summer in this cow town. If you have good mechanical skills and pay attention, it's pretty safe. When I decide to buy another bottle of coolant and a tube of heat grease, it's going on this one.

you could take a look at toms hardware, they have a comparison of coolers, the water cooled lost btw... although they got basic ones. What you can do is this:

buy some dry ice and put it in a cup inside your case and watch where the flow goes, then you can adjust your fans accordingly, since you have some huge parts, you're going to face some distortions to where the flow should be, with this method you can adjust it properly

Average temp in here in August is between 94 ans 97 with half the days guaranteed to be over a 100 and some over 110.

Sacramento, California. 50 miles north or south the temps climb another five degrees. And I have no a/c. Exactly where do you live?

Sorry to bother with a double post, but I finally got the battles themselves working, but now have a different problem. The screen twitches a lot when I first start the battle, and if I click at the far right of the screen, the game goes to desktop, then if I re-click on the game, it goes back to the game, and the game looks and runs perfectly, only if I move my mouse to the right, it will not rotate right, and if I click on the far right, it exits to desktop, game still running, as if I had alt+tab it. This is odd, and I have no idea how to fix this
