CLick and Drag all Skrewy!!!

OK so is there a quick or reliable way for me to be able to click and drag my units out in straight lines like u used to be able to do in medieval.

Whenever I click and drag my boyoz they make stupid formations. Messing around with the set formations (alt6) sometimes produces acceptable results. What gives with these formations?

The contour of the land will change them a lot more than in past games.
