An excellent thread, I hope it'll be updated with new solutions to new problems as time goes by.

ROME 2 TOTAL WAR FTW!
So, i was playing my English campaign, and all of a sudden, when i mouse over East Europe and the Balkans, the game just freezes. i did CTR ALT DELETE, task manager, and end task. (i figured it was a momentaneus lapse, and just in case, i restarted the PC). so, there i was, and the same happened again.
any thoughts?
I have a few crash dump files, which i have no idea what they mean, btw.
What makes a real American? A cowboy hat? Enjoying a fine T-bone
steak? Going to a baseball game? Shooting a gun? Maybe it’s the freedom to go
into a poor country and tell them how to do things?! Heh! Those are all great
qualities! But one thing that makes a true patriot is the ability to choose
an American car! When you buy an import you take a hot meal off a hard
working American’s table. There, there! This poor girl is going
to starve to death, just because you bought a cheaper, more efficient
Maibazu. Without gross symbols of excess, what will Americans have to look up
to? Our great industries is a threaten! Cars, pornography, armaments! And
they need your help! So the next time you buy a car, a piece of adult
literature or a missile defense system! Make sure you do the American thing!
It could be a bad spot on the campaign map. Report it to www.totalwarforums.com.
Package up the dump files and put them on a ticket in Sega support. They have the software to read them.
- Windows-7 64 bits
- Driver Disk Raptor 10 000 t/m
- Intel Processor: Core2Duo 8600 3,33 Ghz
- Graphik card Saphir: Ati Radeon 4870x2 2048 mo
- RAM Kingston 8 Go DDR2 800 Mhz
- Corsair alim: TX 650 Watts
- Monitor Delium 22"
my computer reboot ("windows has suffer issue") when i play NTW, during battle or when i am on campaign map.
some precisions :
- I don't have lagg (when it happens i got 30/40 fps)
- my graphic card get drivers update, and temperature is not too hot.
- in graphic game options i remove antialiasing, lowered resolution to 1366x768, accept automatic reso.
- I never get this with ETW on same computer.
another strange thing : when i tried to install NTW (with CD) on my computer, it said : "files not readable or broken" (i also tried to right click and launch, it was the same) ; so i install the game on my laptop, no problem: then i copied the 2 folders "napoleon total war" from laptop to computer, and the game work.

if somebody know which driver is the best for 4870x2...
on battle it always happened when howitzer shots explose: game freeze, or reboot.
when i have reboot, i have a blue screen during one second with many things writen, i just have time to read "driver not last blablabla"...

Do you have profiles for the card as it is in reality crossfire?
no. as somebody says to me trying this :
- disable cache sound in game options
- disable ATI sound driver
- replace some values in empire_preferences_script:
i had no problem in last 2 battles, don't mean the problem is gone, but maybe...multithreaded_model_enabled true by multithreaded_model_enabled false
bink_use_thread true by bink_use_thread false
number_of_threads 0 by number_of_threads 1
