Some of the nice new improvements I have seen include the ability to choose the general you appoint when you 'create' a new one.

Generals can also get wounded in battle as well as killed (and have to heal for several weeks after the fight).

I didn't like that the enemy artillery really seemed to focus on my general unit rather than any of my troops.. but maybe that was just a coincidence.

Really? I never had any of my generals wounded in battle and return to a town to heal in ETW, but I might have missed it.

in my first grand campaign with the Russians I was able to wound Napoleon in a battle in Bavaria. He was putting up a good fight, but I managed to sneak some hussars around the French flank through some trees. Hit Boney and his staff right on their flanks. The little Emperor fell and was rushed off the field. His army fell apart shortly after. Sadly I wasnt able to capitalize on the victory as another army showed up, and although I fought them to a bitter victory, my army was too damaged to carry on with the invasion of Bavaria, so I fell back to Austrian territory.

all in all i think that may have saved my Austrian allies. They were really struggling in Bavaria agaisnt Naploeon. but since I wounded him, the Austrians have had great success as old Nappy has been recovering in Paris.
