Attrition and supply how are people finding this? In some of the previews we had opposing views some said either no impact others that it had a serious impact.

I think it is far superior to the method in ETW of refilling troops anywhere in the world. It makes you take some minor logistic matters into account in your campaigns. Its not a major shift, but a shift in the right direction.
"A Foot Soldier is commonly a Man, who for the sake of wearing a Sword, and the Honour of being term'd a Gentleman, is coax'd from a Handicraft Trade, whereby he might Live comfortably, to bear Arms for his King and Country, whereby he has the hopes of nothing but to Live Starvingly...The best end he can expect to make, is to Die in the Bed of Honour; and the greatest Living Marks of his Bravery, to recommend him at once to the World's Praise and Pity, are Crippled Limbs, with which I shall leave him to beg a better Lively Hood."

I agree. if you take very heavy losses in enemy territory you HAVE TO pull back to a friendly region. Just like a real life army would have too. i have had my best army out of action for 5-6 turns now while i await resupply.

I was evidently ill informed that the blue highlight on the map was the range of your supply, going past it would stop refreshing ammunition, food, and you couldn't replenish, and that the only way to extend it was to capture cities, or towns. what a fail.

Isn't that how you traditionally build supply lines....by advancing? Otherwise you would in theory have to have a large army caravan with the supply chain in order to get it through hostile lands.

What about attrition, much affect, or just a rain drop in a ocean...

i love it, no more One turn 100% restoring a army. You got to fall your ass back to the motherland if you want to live.

There never was a one turn 100% restoring in ETW; it took two turns which made a huge difference.
Still, you're right; I never understood why one should be able to replenish his army in an enemy region.

BTW, are there techs that allow faster replenish and less attrition?

Is it true though that Generals automatically resupply?

yes, it costs nothing, you troops will automatically refit in your territory. However the rate of this is based on the level of tech and supply buildings and its level.

    yes there are.

Yes my apologizes it does take 2 turns in ETW. But you can do it any territory all it did was take cash.

Now the rate is alot slower, even on moderate supply it takes 3-4 turns to get a army back to full strength. A army that was almost wiped out will take much longer.

That sounds good, so armies are a valuable commodity, how does the AI handle this?

Better question is is the AI affected by it first?

Though since I have to wait till next week or how long till the game arrives how does the supply depots look?

Is it like a fort where you just build it on a map and anyone can use it?

    Screenshots please?

Can you also destroy depots too?

What difficulty settings are you using? Or is it the same with every difficulty?

Attrition is ok. If the attrition is only a few turns then you won't have many problems. But in the Egytian campaign few places that take about 3-5 turns to get too, and you suffer Attrition pretty bad. The only saving grace is that usually the army you face when you get to the city is pathetic and your now raveged army can still handle them. Most of these armies are camels, or horse, and square owns.
