They cant be serious.. empire had no sli/xfire support for good 2-3 months.. ppl were outraged..

AND AGAIN THERE IS NO SLI SUPPORT for napoleon.. how can you release one of most demanding pc game.. and not include sli support.. if you cant.. why dont you make sure that nvidia and ati will release new drivers or atleast sli profiles update.. i checked.. there are neither

this is just silly.. where in empire i sit with 40-50~fps. in napoleon its 15-30 , i know napoleon is supposed to have better graphic.. but that doesnt change the fact sli doesnt work at all , its just 1 card..

    yeh.. its a rant post

Napoleon wasn't a very big release so don't expect it to get first priority in driver and xfire updates.

LOL, X-Fire is NOTHING to do with CA, just have to wait till next bunch of new X-Fire games update. You can manually enable X-Fire anyway.

You could manually enable SLI in empire too.

and it didnt work for jack..

big or not.. nvidia and ati business is made about gaming hardware .. they even help to develop games.. and ensure compatibility.. if you saying its not ca fault that there is no sli/xfire ur damn wrong

i saw small games get sli drivers/profile updates month before release..

heck.. somehow bioware made sure that both mass effect 2 and dragon age.. had sli support 2 months before release..

    yes 2 big games..

what about such games as majesty 2, torchlight.. and similar.. none of them is big.. neither of those have half support/money invested compared to total war games..

    yet both had sli support..

do you think those "plays best on ati/nvidia " advertising you see on every second game.. just pops out of nowhere.. ? those are paid by nvidia/ati to be there ..

Have you tried just manually adding it?

yup, after adding it shows on nhancer as empty profile.. sli indicator doesnt show sli working, when trying to change sli settings in nvidia panel, it says that there are predefinet settings.. but clearly there arent..

Hooray for CA NOT getting their act together with nvidia AGAIN!

I will blame nvidia for this one though. They haven't released a driver in a really long time to even add support. I use the program nhancer and was able to manually add support and it seems to work great. Seems there's no issues in N:TW.

    1) Download the latest version of nhancer at http://www.nhancer.com
    2) Run nHancer and create a new game profile named Napoleon Total War and add Napoleon.exe to the list of executables
    3) Under Options check Allow override of predefined settings
    4) Click the SLI Mode tab
    5) Under Hex value delete the default and enter 400005

It seems hardly anything that isnt an FPS is actually SLI supported.I do not think the tech as a whole is common enough amongst gamers to qualify its inclusion most of the time. Not worth the engineering I am sure was CA/Segas stance

Well I can tell you for a fact SLI does not work by default. You have to add support for it manually. But once you do it seems to work just fine. And as far as crossfire goes I know for a fact ATI has to add support for games for it to work so while E:TW works it doesn't mean N:TW will work. But it is possible that they did add support for it since new ATI drivers came out recently.

How are you doing it then, for ETW yeah, NTW it does not work and adding through the NCP does not work either. My new card will be here soon so I won't have to worry about SLI anymore.

    I posted a guide above

    1) Download the latest version of nhancer at http://www.nhancer.com
    2) Run nHancer and create a new game profile named Napoleon Total War and add Napoleon.exe to the list of executables
    3) Under Options check Allow override of predefined settings
    4) Click the SLI Mode tab
    5) Under Hex value delete the default and enter 400005

Only alternate way would be to rename Napoleon.exe to Empire.exe (would not be able to run it from steam in that case, would have to click on the exe in the steam folder)
