drop ins are awesome

I just played my first drop in during my campaign. it was amazing. the ai is improved but nothing compares to fighting against a human. we both had medium stacks with arty. he beat me pretty badly but it was still a ton of fun and very realistic.

I assume everything looked the same? Like unit sizes didn't change at all for you.

no both armies were depleted a little bit but all the unit sizes were good and I didnt experience any lag. it was really good technically and the load times were no worse than the game.

I couldn't agree more. Really adds a new level of variety to the game! I have both had someone join my campaign, and joined someone else's, and both were very fun. It was enjoyable to fight someone and actually care about my units, and vice versa. In normal MP, everything is expendable, but now people actually care about their solddiers

Would anyone mind quickly explaining briefly what these drop ins are? I haven't really been following Napoleons development as much as I usually do with other Total War games. Thanks in advance

It means that another NTW owner can command the AI army in your campaign battles.
If you play campaign, you have to enable it;
if you want to be the drop-in, you have to wait for a drop-in enabled battle to start.

I'm really looking forward to playing some drop-in.
I hope there will be enough campaigners to allow it, I know quite some MP players are looking forward to get people to want their old BAI back

It lets human players 'drop in' on campaign battles and play against you instead of the AI taking control of the army.

From what I've seen, it's an optional feature that you can enable/disable before starting a campaign
