Hi guys. I've been an avid reader on this forum for quite some time and decided to finally post about ntw. I just wanted to give my impressions and maybe answer any questions you guys have. I have been playing the campaign as England and almost one year in. So here we go.
--The overall graphics and look of the map and battles look alot better in my opinion. You notice a diffrence right from the start.
--I started on very hard for the campaign and it does pay off. At first I was taking northern France by storm and figured it would be quite easy after that. Wrong. France came right back about 5 turns later to take it back. They mix it up well also. They attack with full stacks, half stacks. They don't seem to give up and they harass the crap out of your smaller towns. It makes it harder to develop tech when your constantly repairing your schools. Which is smart I guess.
--You really feel like France is in charge of Europe.
--They battle ai isn't to bad. They really spread it out and try to outflank you.
--I had a rebellion and taking out the rebels is no cake walk. There exp and full stacked.(They kicked my ass)
--Fire by rank does not matter in my opinion. They shoot when they get the chance and I think you guys might like the result of it. There doesn't seem to be a waiting period before they shoot.
--The new diplomacy is decent. More options. I feel like I really need some allies for the first year though.
---Everything is more expensive and takes longer to build or construct. Even the bigger naval vessels take quite a few turns.
Overall It has me sucked in so I guess I'm not thinking about the money I spent and the dreadfull downloading. I'm use to bigger battles from dmuc but all in all I think it will please most of you or hold you over until it's modded. This is just my opinion and I will keep checking the thread and answer your questions if you guys have any. Mind you I'm playing the grand campaign as England. I have not even tried the Napolean Campaign yet.
