Imperial Edition worth it?

This is aimed at the UK people really. As Napoleon is becoming available has anybody had any regrets paying approx £15 extra for 15 extra units? I know once you have parted with the cash it is hard to entertain that the product wasn't worth it (due to the psychology behind buying) but I ask anyway as somebody who would 'like to like' Napoleon but has yet to be convinced to buy it.

i have no regrets, i love the units i have :-) and the box goes nicely next to my special forces ETW.

i only ended up paying about a extra £7 ish for Imperial Edition.

Is available at zavvi.com for £25 with free delivery. They dispatched it the next day so no complaints and was the cheapest i could find it for

Ah, but they also do the regular version for £17 and I don't really see the appeal of the extra units. My mod Aristeia has 10 times as many units of perhaps comparable quality for free - so it is hard for me to justify spending money on units lol.

The same price as the Steam vanilla edition for more units than the Steam Imperial (UK) edition, plus the wall chart and nice packaging?

Sounds like a reasonable deal to me.

not to mention the advantages of having what is a huge (20gb) game on discs instead of having to download through steam along with the thousands of others trying to do the same thing .

Makes re-installing easier as well

Normal edition for £17 seems like the best deal so far.

If you can wait, that's really the best option.

On balance, I have a 'don't want to miss out' complex that makes me want all the units available from the start. I just know that I'll get most use out of them if I get them earlier. Waiting for a DLC sale and the community-produced units could be a very good option, too, and the super-cheap vanilla option really is priced like an expansion pack.

I went with Zavvi, and see it as a bargain. Although the standard is only £17, the fact that it is the equivelent of the standard version on Steam is where the bargain is to me. I would of bought on Steam standard, or Zavvi Imperial edition.

Oh and more units, and yes I bought all DLC for Empire.

I guess it is the principle of paying for units which I am against.

People will just make the Imperial units themselves, not hard, get the cheapest and mod it...

Off topic, thanks for spamming adverts for your mod, Zhuge. Just tried it, and Aristeia is kick ass! It has an atmosphere very different from any other mod I've tried - more like magic realism than fantasy. Love the crazy female units and heroes straight out of the Iliad.

Ah, you noticed.

I paid the extra for it, the Imperial Edition. I don't care as long as you get some fancy packaging
I love Special Editions/Collectors, so I think that the 10 extra quid for packaging, biography and 15 units is worth it.

Medieval 2 TW had the best Collectors though.

Delivery free only within the UK, I presume?
