The general opinion thread. The question is simple and straightforward
- Do you like Napoleon Total War?
If you can give us some detail why, that would be perfect.

No because it costs $69 USD in my country on steam and even more in retail stores. Far too expensive for the somewhat improvements over ETW this expansion brings.
From the limited amount I have played I would have to say it is pretty good.
I still don't forgive CA for not finishing ETW though.
May your road lead you to warm sands.
I like what's been shown to us certainly, also, I was watching a fellow for a good hour or so on a live stream video website before, there were some problems, particularily during the Co-op campaign mode, but I really don't intend to try that feature, well becoem interested atleast.
Conclusively I find what I've seen incredibley attractive. Aside from the lack of ships being coloured along with the marines lack of updated uniforms this game looks set to be the CoD for PC's.
Field Marshal Horatio Herbert Kitchener, 1st Earl Kitchener KG, KP, GCB, OM, GCSI, GCMG, GCIE, ADC, PC (24 June 1850 – 5 June 1916), was an Irish-born British Field Marshal and proconsul who won fame for his imperial campaigns and later played a central role in the early part of the First World War, although he died halfway through it.
i bought today on steam and i gotta say im very impressed with the game, obviously it needs some battle tweaks to deal with the pacing lol i had forgotten how quick vanilla battles used to be lol. but as far as graphics go its awesome!!! i love how the ground scars from canon shot landing on it. oh and one of the things that i was like "DAMN" was the fact that YOUR OWN artillery crew can kill themselves lol one of the guys that was loading a gun accidentally walked in front of it and it blew him away lol. funniest thing id ever seen. i dont remember ever seeing that in empire.
err, what do you mean, a soldier from the same cannon crew got killed when he walked in front of it as it fired ? If so, i dont believe i've ever seen that before either. One would think that when the guy firing the gun shouts "firing", the rest of the crew would make damn sure they werent in FRONT of it![]()
Natural selection. The "stands in front of firing cannons" gene has been purged.
Though if they actually added misfires, that's pretty nice. In the time period, it wasn't uncommon for a gun to blow up in someone's face or a glowing ember from a previous shot to prematurely ignite the powder in a cannon.
I am disappointed they used their universe warp machine to create a space rift destroying Scotland, Norway, Sweden, and Finland, but at least they brought Switzerland back.
OK, people who don't have the game, don't vote.
Prepare for Glory!
Not liking the price is a justifiable reason to hate the game. The question is do you like NTW? No i don't because i feel it is hugely over priced.
If you want votes from only people who have played, say so in the OP or ask a more spefici question, are you happy with the gameplay of NTW etc.
So far it looks average, nothing really new and few things are bad - no easy modding again, removed firing drills, stupid little campaigns instead of one super huge (yes even the last campaign is small crap). Good atlest they fixed constant ctds. Ai exact same as ETW - means you will loose only if ai has 5x + more troops or you want to loose. If the price would be around 20 dollars, then ok, but for full price i am not sure if its good buy.

Can't put it down. I came home early from work today just to play it (and i'm in the military, not an easy feat!) It is everything I wanted it to be and more. I'm gonna post some pics up from a couple of battles. For all you nay-sayers out there you HAVE to try it out!
Just an example, I ambushed an Austrian army on it's way to sack Nice and when the battle deployed they were in the middle of the map, all in column formation and my army was split in two, flanking on both sides of it automatically. It was a slaughter, they didn't stand a chance.

From the cinematic immersion to the excellent research that went into the factions,I find this to be what Empire intended to be and that is the most accomplished Total War to date.I am duly impressed by the new found intellect of the ai during campaign battles, that being they will often times recognise the terrain that is available both to myself and them and set their units according, often times racing their lights to a key point on the field to retain the advantage of height or locale. The ai also does well in pinning actions, being they will occupy my center whilst sending units wide to attempt to turn my flank. As well I am pleased to see that even when intending or a central assault the enemy cav will veer wide and sweep across the front of their lines rather than trying to shove their way through the infantry, tangling the entire thing up.Also I actually noticed non routing units fleeing the filed when it was realised that the day for them was lost,a welcome addition to a newly cognizant ai experience, especially since this army retreated to the campaign map in relative good order and then commenced to merge several smaller forces to replenish itself before having another go at me.all in all excellent experience all around!!!
All I gotta say is it definately exceeded my expectations and was far, far more fun then ETW ever was.![]()
