Graphics Settings

So I've looked at the Total War Blog Graphics Workshop set up by Sega (confused me a bit), I've recieved little help from other posts, and i'm a little nervous. I got Medieval 2 Total War working amazingly on my Vista machine, and boy do I mean amazing. Empire TW is a bit of a challenge though. I was wondering what some big frame rate-eaters in the graphics settings were. I'm not going to give my settings now so it won't taint your opinions. I'm actually not at the computer i'm playing it with so I don't know the computer specs exactly, but it's Vista 64 bit with 286 MB card and so forth. Pretty low key machine. I favor the frame rate much more than graphics. In other words, I would rather have super-fast frames and low quality units than slow frames and Ultra quality units. Thanks.
