    Dear CA,

Now that NTW has been released, Could you please tell us "the community here who aren't part of the beta" how the BAI fix for ETW is coming along?

We "the community" would really appreciate it!

Thank you again for hearing our concerns,

In all honesty there is 0 change to the AI compared to Empire.

    @Isarith,

What are you talkin' about dude?

    Little change compared to Empire?

Did you make a typo and mean "compared to Napoleon Total War?"

No, I'm just saying we were to get a BAI patch now that NTW is out, presumably based on NTW, there would be no real difference. The AI in NTW is barely different at all, so in a sense, we already have a patch. It just costs $30 and does almost absolutely nothing.

Hmm, I figured as much old boy, disappointed but not surprised should be the community's new motto. Well lads, lets hope CA can come charging over the hill trumpeting their patch for the weary old soldiers on the forums.

I wouldn't hold your breath for the promised BAI patch. Most of the people who replied to CA's request for BAI testers haven't had any response-not even an email saying "thanks for your interest we'll get back to you shortly". Zip. Nada.

A cynical person could come to the conclusion that CA made the promise of working on ETW'S BAI simply to appease the complainers, with no intention of actually doing anything.

Or maybe they're just really busy with NTW. I can't see much work being done on ETW for at least a couple of months as the bugs in NTW will get top priority.

And be aware, it doesnt "fix" anything, it "adresses" the " 'melee issue', the 'blob' issue and the leapfrogging glitch.".

Not sure what the leapfrogging glitch is, but isn't the melee issue and the blob issue the same thing? It blobs to melee?

I gotta bad feeling CA are going to go against their promise and not fix ETW BAI since everyone`s raving about NTW. We`ll see. They had better keep their word.

I don’t believe CA had any intention of fixing the BAi I think it was just a way to calm down the anger over Empires Bai and get more sales of Napoleon . Perhaps we have all been fooled again.

In my case I'm really not computer savvy, and even if I was, I live alone, there is no one actually physically in the room with me who can show me how to do something. As for written how-to instructions online, often they aren't even well-written.
What all this means is that the first time I modded my game --and then a patch came out ---my game then CTD'd. and my game was then unplayable for 6 months until I figured out what to do on my own to fix the CTD.
When I heard that the December 5 patch was going to be the last patch , then I started modding -up my game again.
In other words, frankly, I don't want another patch.
It would be different if you could elect to download, or not download, the patch. But the process is automatic.
As it is, last month I got a notice from Steam about some kind of "client update " , whatever that is.
What does this client update do ? Something about "clouds " or "weather effects " ??? WTF ?
Luckily I was in off-line mode at the time. For an entire month now I have successfully dodged this client update.
But surely one of these days I will accidentally click "yes" instead of "no" and it will be back to 6 months of CTD over something to do with ---how clouds look in the game ?

Nah they wouldnt do that, that would be suicidal
Theres allways the Empire update thread on these forums to proof we were being promised a BAI patch

    http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=331066

And not only ''because we were promised'',but because CA admits there that the BAI is screwed and needs to be fixed,so thats why if you ask me! , i hope !!

If its just another ruse, that would honestly be dispicable.

But who knows. If NTW sales are good enough, they'll be laughing too hard are all the suckers that bought NTW to get off the floor and make the changes.

I don't know of anyone on this forum that was accepted into the beta testing.....so honestly this could all just be another prank.

ETW is old news. Good luck with seeing much of anything. Heck, it was hard enough to get anything out of CA prior to NTW's launch (unless it was PDLC) I can only imagine how it will be post launch.
The extra development time will allow us to finalize and polish Empire, making it the most accomplished and epic of the Total War series." said Kieran Brigden, Studio Communications Manager at The Creative Assembly. "There is a great deal of anticipation around Empire: Total War and we want to ensure that it is the benchmark for strategy games upon its release.

I am really curious if those of you that are still complaining about the AI in Napoleon have actually played the game yet,for if you have you must be playing a different version of Empire than me to believe it is exactly the same.I for one have been consistently flanked, compromising my position across the board, and in fact, the ai has become reactionary to the point that when i attempted to fall back to a building for cover they immediately charged bayonets cutting me off...on top of the line of KGL that flanked all the way around to my rear and used the foliage for cover, sandwiching my position. There are consistent improvements all across the board and they are plain to see...you know how some say that fanboys see good where they want???well I am of the firm belief that haters see bad where they want....and CA has already stated that The Empire AI tweak is in the works and the beta group is for an indeterminate length, and it should come as no surprise at all that they would prefer to use their official forums vs our non official forums to run these betas...

Well what I saw when I watched that guy streaming his video was Napoleon the General himself leaving his army behind(A well rested at least 1/2 a stack) and charging headlong into cannister shot. He survived only to get in a melee with Prussian Calvary.
