    okay,it appears that the unit multiplier is still a go,but it does not seem to affect the unit sizes in the Battles of Napoleon mode,otherwise you are free to alter the size of units to what you like.I am running 300 men per line currently and it does well for the overall immersion of the larger battles

    I assume editing the multiplier does work for Napoleon's europe campaign?

    yes it does,it works for everything but The Battles of Napoleon option.all others,being Campaigns of Napoleon and custom battles take advantage of the increased unit numbers...and yes the battles will never be to scale with what they were...we know that...but hardware requirements aside most players simply dont have the 14 hours that it typically took to see these battles played out...or the 3 hours of moving into position....and besides even though it is nice for immersion and cinematic effect it really doesnt matter wether there are 3 men or 3000 men per unit,for the maneuver and the tactics are still the same,increase dmen are just visual stimulus,good visual stimulus,but stimulus none the less

    Wheel speed for a line formation? In ETW, larger units resulted in longer lines, resulting in more unweildy (and more realistic) formation maneuver, right?

    Targeting & casualties? Larger units give a larger target "footprint", and the collision-based area weapons seemed to have a higher chance of hitting something. I didn't do a strict analysis, but it certainly did feel like artillery etc. was more effective in the target-rich environment.

    picking nits, thanx for feedback, Chevalier

    Pretty logical as for the designed battles, everything is coded inside the specific files for that battle. Its like the same with starting units in E:TW campaigns. Those sizes were assigned in the startpos.esf file.

    I have no doubts there will be a mod that will fix it for Napoleon's Battles.

    yes ;
    I play ETW with 2,1 so +- 336 men Bn
    For me it is the best solution (bigbattles and just enough space on the field for deployment)

    Is it possible to deploy large units in thin lines?
