    Default 2 unrelated questions

    1) As france, i got intercepted by GB in North america (close to new york). I put a time limit because otherwise they would just sit back and do nothing. I kill half of their men, and they just 10% or so. Yet when the time runs out, it says "close defeat, and my army is retreating on the campaign map. WTF? they attacked me.

    2) Now for something completly different: Like you all, i build a few (4-5) schools. However, i have the intention of changing my research. Example to explain. I have a College with most of my gentleman in(A), and a school (B). I research a big thing in A, but when it only takes one turn left to research, i move the research to my school B, where it also takes one turn. In that way, A can start something else without losing time.

However when i do this, it seems that my gentleman don't win any or almost none research traits. Is it just coincidence, or do they have to witness the whole research process (= One technology only researched in one place, no swapping)to gain a trait?

    Thanks for the help

No, if you get intercepted, you are considered the attacker.

Yeah, because you should have to displace an army across your path before you can continue, and if they're still there at the end of the day, your plans are still thwarted. Though 10% leftdoesn't sound like a spirited victory to me. That's just Empire being gay.

No i mean i killed half of their men, and they just about 10% of mine (so 90% left). That's why i found it strange i had a defeat.

And the 2nd question, anyone experience with that?

You were defeated because you didn't obtain your objective - destroying/routing the enemy in the timeframe of your attack.

2 - I'd imagine that the gentleman needs to see the end of his work before he can gain research points, makes sense.
