Yeah since Napoleon: Total war has been released in the US now i think we can start a picture thread as in the empire forum.

Same rule as in the other thread: Post big pictures in spoiler tags!

Here are some screens from a custom battle I did of 10 infantry vs 10 infantry to test something out...

I noticed the British AI moved in columns while my men moved in line... They appeared to move faster and more cohesive than my force as shown in the first few pictures. They formed line right before they were in range...

The musket fire began and after one volley, the Brits charged my right flank. No melee bug, they just exploited weakness in my line and destroyed my right. I wheeled, but they just folded my flanks up... Played on normal settings, equal infantry.

Hey man, seeing as you're using a 30 inch monitor could you please tell me if the main menu screen is fixed from Empire?

i.e. does it fill the entire screen + if not are the edges black bordered or do they show the last full screen image? (which is what happens in Empire and looks buggy as hell). A pic would be much appreciated as would a high res one of GB from the campaign map if you have time .

No, the main menu has not been fixed. There is still a black border behind... It seems 1920 x 1200 may be the highest res the main menu will wrap around fully... As for pics of GB from campaign... Enjoy:

There are many, many settlements on the map. Look at the minimap at the bottom of this screenshot, and notice the province lines. The map is much larger. France isn't just Paris anymore.

EDIT2: France is listed as a constitutional monarchy on the diplomacy map, but is called Empire on the faction page. Unlike other constitutional monarchies, I can fire ministers at will, and there are no elections.

You probably can. I used the family tree mod from ETW to view the family tree of Imperial France: Louis XVIII is the legitimate claimant, and Napoleon is just shown as a rival. I've since removed the mod because it severely messes with NTW's faction UI (we need a new version)--but I should have taken a screenshot first. Oops.

Thanks VERY much for all the screens man, much appreciated. Generally speaking does the GC map feel much scaled up compared to Empire, does it feel confined or grand in scale? Certainly looks very nice.

About the main menu, is it at least just a black boarder (which is fine) or does it display the last full screen image at the edges, often flickering? If you go to the menu from the campaign map you'll see what I mean.

And one last thing, if you don't mind: Could you let me know what the naval gun ranges are? Just generally spreaking, do we still have long range sniper sloops and short range SoLs? Hope not!

The GC is freaking huge! So much detail... At my resolution, fully zoomed out, I can't fit the entire British Isles on screen. Its exceptionally detailed, and as far as I've been able to tell, the battlefield resembles the location on the map fairly well.

The main menu's border is a solid black, no more flickering, if there is, I have not noticed. As for the naval battles, I've yet to fight one as I am landlocked in Italy Campaign. I'll post more pictures up of all the factions later when I get around to it... Here's a battle for the city of Reimes I captured from the French who want it back...

heres some shots I have of a huge battle I fought in my Italian campaign against Piedmont-Sardinia. I thought I would lose the battle as it was 2600 of their infantry against just 700 of my men. In the end the cannon won the battle for me
