Probably RR/RC, though I don't use it myself (and I don't even play a lot), but it adds challenge (and reality) to the game. Also, Byg's Grim Reality adds challenge for sure.
Then some nice eye candy mods, for example MapMod and New Settlement Strat Models (both of them can be found in M2TW >> Mod Threads >> Released Mods). And perhaps Better Grass + Better Water. I have Better Grass myself.
Additionally some AI improving mods would be good. Can I suggest Germanicu5's either Lusted's Battle AI?

Sorry that I'm too lazy to search them and send links.

    Hope it helps,
    ~Da Goofy

I would say try SS6.2 then go from there...It's the latest version of Stainless Steel...

    SS6.2 http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=302184

    First you need SS6.1 though...

If you do beat the game (which isn't common, but I did it ) you might try RR/RC. If you still think everything's to easy, try BGR. I will post links if you want them.

Try Point Blank's 6.2 RR/RC compilation. Use BGR IV which is included in it for even more difficult and realistic gameplay.

    Take this, bitc... mate:
