Quote Game - Guess Who Said What
Guess which character from the works of Tolkien said this:
'We are met to discuss our plans, our ways, means, policy and devices. We shall soon before the break of day start on our long journey, a journey from which some of us, or perhaps all of us (except our friend and counsellor, the ingenious wizard Gandalf) may never return. It is a solemn moment. Our object is, I take it, well known to us all.'
If you get it right, you provide the next quote.

Who said:
"Daughter of the house of Finarfin, let no grief lie between us, for though Morgoth has laid my life in ruin, you still i love."

Alright, I'll provide the next one:
'It is far more powerful than I ever dared to think at first, so powerful that in the end it would utterly overcome any of mortal race who possessed it. It would possess him.'

Tom Bombadil.
Next quote:
'For it is before the walls of Minas Tirith that the doom of our time will be decided, and if the tide be not stemmed there, then it will flow over all the fair fields of Rohan, and even in this Hold among the hills there shall be no refuge.'

I know Gandalf said something similar in the video games, /and movies, but I'm going to say Elrond, at the council at Rivendell.

No, it is said by a far less important character, though I think they did modify the line for the movies and give it to Gandalf.

I looked it up. And I don't think anyone is going to get that. In context, it's just a part of a dialogue, but when you extract it like that, it seems like a really important line. You could probably even say the guy's job, or his name, and people couldn't guess, he's that minor, as far as I remember.

I'm pretty sure someone out there knows the answer. I'll let it stand for a bit, and then post a new one if no-one can come up with a name.
