Ideas of modifications

Since we know that Napoleon: Total War will be an updated E:TW which takes the action into Napoleonic period in Europe, we can discuss if some interesting modifications could be made. I have heard about an idea of a modification which would take the game into the Polish-Bolshevik War. Here is a video about that war:

What do you think about that idea?

Adding Spain as a Playable faction?

A larger variety of units for each faction?

Special regiments? e.g King's German Legion...

the modification I would like a face mod because when you see the pictures all European men are like a snowman!

Making Spain and the Ottomans playable in the Campaigns has to be priority....

I was rather thinking about making modifications that bring the game into other eras. Something like the M2TW modification which were bringing the game into the XVI century.

American Civil War Mod? Peninsular War mod? Oh, ideas, ideas....

Sounds great! Though you'll need to explain what the war is, of course, to attract publicity!

I had no idea there was ever such a conflict! None at all! I didn't know a thing about the entire war!

This would be an astounding mod, assuming we can mod maps to have a giant "Poland/West Russian border" map a lá The Italian Campaign map

This modification would be hard to made, because the modders would have to consider the machine guns, air force and stuff like that. Of course, you could skip those parts of history, but it would make the modification kind of stupid.

I'd love to see a mod covering the years prior to Napoleon's ascent - the Revolutionary Wars, 1792-1797. The French Republic, first struggling for survival, then trying to export the revolution to their neighbour countries. There's some potential in that scenario.

As long as CA is not telling us the secrets about how to make new maps, mods like that are not possible. Not shure if it's even possible to add new factions.

I think that making a modification about 1919-1921 in eastern Europe is already hard, I can't really image a modification that brings the fighting into late 1930s.
I really hope that the Polish-Bolshevik War modification will be made in future, I'm counting on people such as Salvo and King Louise Assurbanipal.
Also, I think that seeing a Ogniem i Mieczem modification on Napoleon's engine would be very interesting

its not that hard you have submarines in napoleon which could be modded you have air balloons with could be modded into planes for the machine guns make the reload fast but inaccurate and the troop travels slow
and then you can make everything have light inf formation also you could make horses into Tanks

I figured I might tell you guys here before I make a real announcement, I am currently working on a mod for Empire about the Russian Civil War, that will be moved to Napoleon upon release. Currently I just have two Russian factions, I planned to add Poland too. No screens here as I'm working on another computer. The potential in Empire is limited, but in Napoleon there's maps set in Russia, atrition and desertion, detailed campaign maps and the ability to use historical generals. I wonder if the government types and religion appear in Napoleon, then we could have ideologies plus political "missionaries" too.
So anyways, my point is that I am already working on something very similar to the suggested topic. I will make a thread tomorrow for that one if anyone wants to discuss it.

But that's just one idea. The Victorian age would be interesting too, but that would make more sense with a more global campaign map. Let's hope we get some proper modding tools.

I've always been hoping on a mod involving a War of the Triple Alliance, which was the war between Paraguay vs Argentina, Brazil, and Uruguay that took place in the late 1860's. If NTW is any easier to mod than the other games, I might even try my hand at attempting it.

I would gladly play a campaign in this region and period. From what i have read Polish forces were also crucial in driving out Bolschevik forces from the eastern parts of the Baltic states. I have one question in that tube video the parts that seem newly filmed like a movie or series, u got any info on that if its a new Polish film then damn i want to see it.
