    Default Kings are dying frequently

It's only 30 turns into the game, and I've been told that the Kings of Sicily, Norway, England, Poland, and at least four other factions have died at some point in those 30 turns.

Is this normal or is there some glitch causing this message to appear, or the kings to die?

Most of them are at an age close to death level so yes this is normal (in my submod i have extended age a little though ). the next death of king wont happen for quite a while as their heirs are much younger(well unless they die in battle.)

    Quick Question,
How do you crown your faction heir? I have 3.0 version, and I sent my heir for Kievan Rus to the capital, he is not crowned

I do not believe you can have any control over faction heir with 3.0. With 4.1 I believe, the privy seal was introduced and you may give it to the one you wish to follow the computer selected heir and in that way take control of your lineage.

It has to be the original capital, not the current one. This is assuming you have moved your capital. He also must remain in the capital for one full turn before he is crowned.

The capital of Kievan Rus in 3.0 IS Kiev. I sent my faction heir there after the death of my faction leader. six turns passed and my heir was still not given the crown trait. Is this a bug or something? is it fixed in 4.2?

I cannot say what 3.0 is doing, left that version a long time ago. However using v4.2 + HHB in the export_descr_ancillaries.txt file the coding for the heir to receive the crown reads like this:

    Trigger crown_russia_01
    WhenToTest CharacterTurnEnd
    Condition EndedInSettlement
    and SettlementName Kiev
    and IsFactionLeader
    and not CultureType middle_eastern
    and not CultureType greek
    and not I_WorldwideAncillaryExists crown_russia
    AcquireAncillary crown_russia chance 100
    ;--------------------------------------------------------------------
    Trigger crown_russia_11AI
    WhenToTest CharacterTurnEnd
    Condition not CharacterIsLocal
    and IsFactionLeader
    and FactionType russia
    and not I_WorldwideAncillaryExists crown_russia
    AcquireAncillary crown_russia chance 50

The first group of code pertains to a human player, while the next group applies to the AI.

Make sure that your faction heir has the trait Faction Leader listed under traits. There is a limit to the number of traits a governor/general can have and if that limit is exceeded he may not have the trait listed. Check the file in the version you are using and see if it matches this code. Better yet, upgrade to v4.2 or even HHB and try it then. IMHO the later versions are much better than v3.0.

I have not played the Kiev/Russia faction in a long time so this is merely an educated guess on my part but the coding does match the other factions that I have played and have had no problems crowning a new king.

In my sicilian VH/VH, Venice has now invaded malta three times instead of trying to recapture Venice, which I took many turns ago. Also, I am still having a few instances of enemy units freezing during battles where I am siegeing them. Ultimately, they trigger and go fight. Shoot, wrong place...meant to put in HHB.
