Just started having massive lag and crashes on campaign
hey guys,
I've had the game for many months, and its always run very very smoothly, but all of a sudden, in the campaign, the game almost comes to a halt. Each turn can take about an hour, and it crashes probably 75% of the time now, and I have no idea whats wrong.
I've been trying to see if getting a new graphics card would help but I'm not sure if that the problem. I've put all the graphics on the game to low, and I've defragmented, but nothing works. I have a NVIDIA GeForce 7900 GS. It says it has 256 MB. my computer has plenty memory space left. I've been seeing that a NVIDIA GeForce 9800GT is what a lot of people are recommending for the game. I'm willing to get that, but before I buy it, I wanna see if people think thats the issue or if there is something else I can do. Thanks to anyone who helps!

there are way better cards than the 9600 GT, look around some websites like newegg and stuff for video cards, there are alot better out there it just depends on what you are willing to spend, i wouldn't spend money on a 9600GT

Have you cleaned out your case lately? Do all your fans work? Have you defragged your harddrive?
