Unable to Exit Campaign Map

It started when I installed Empire into my new Windows 7. I decided to start the RTI campaign again, but decided to skip the fight with the Powhatans in the beginning and get right into the campaign... since then, the button allowing you to quit in the left-hand corner is now unclickable. Any ideas?

Do you mean the button in the menue box in left corner above, next to that "silly talking lady"?
