finished updating..launch ETW rights reserve screen
we are sorry for the inconvenience ... error report.... dont send... CTD... do i need to start all over again? from fresh installation of cd's? then a week of updates?:o

Title says it all. I load it up it comes to the first screen and then it crashes and says, "Empire Total War has stopped working." How do I fix this?

I have no mods, I am updated fully and I am running a vista...help?

Find the scripts folder, and delete it.

Go to Steam, my games, right click Empire, and verify local cache.

Odds are something did not download.

Same problem here, after the last update Empires refuses to start.

I am also unable to go in offline mode with steam, their is a hidden notification that says: the operation cannot be completed when steam is in offline mode.

@DUFFMAN im using darthmod but i deleted it.. i tried my luck reading work around installation and some other things.. like irishon* said delete script folder i deleted darthmod..( has script on it ) guessing it messes up with the files.. no work at all so im trying to do fresh install currently updating now 80%... if it CTD again in 1st screen...i feel like formatting OS haha

i really like this game.. btw im using dual OS

and btw if u guys ask , maybe im having problem with my drivers or specs? well here is it

i played i think last month its smooth all in ULTRA... settings
guess sometines in land battles rarely i got CTD
guess my power supply is not enough
pls help me

I move The Creative Assembly folder (backup) to desktop - solution

I tested runnin the game at steam got working after a week of waiting in front of screen reinstalling debugging downloading reading etc...
just got patch 1.5..

Meshi have you done the uninstall procedure stated in the troubleshoot thread? that is the correct way to do it.
Verify the integrity of the game cache with steam, and defrag game files (for this, you open steam and them right click in ETW>properties>local files)
