Cities and terrain disappear from world map

Hello,

I've installed Empire: Total War on my Acer Aspire 5739G laptop. First time I ran it it runs alright on something between medium and high. I could see the terrain and cities, but the next time I started it up and started a new campaign the terrain (woods etc.) disappear along with the cities. I only see flags and text where the cities are and where the woods used to be there's only a brown field.

Does anyone know how to fix this, as it's rather annoying to have to click several times to access you city etc. + the fact that I want it to look as it should.

Any answers that can help me are very much appreciated.

Its a common problem with nvidia cards. If the gt 130m is not your card post your system specs. If you don't know how, take a look at the http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=328338
