Empire won't load after reinstallation?

This is bugging me now,have recently removed Empire from pc as I wanted to make a fresh install for the new Civil War mod,loaded it up again,steam have upgraded the game to v5.1,informs me it's ready to play,and now it won't start.

I get the first window up and then I get an error message that means nothing to me.After I had removed game from pc I did go into the steam folder in my programs folder and remove the existing Empire folder from it,but surely that would'nt be a problem,can anyone help please?

ps This is the retail DVD version

I have a similar problem except mine won't start at all with any mods on the game, it gets to the first start up screen with info and stuff then closes down

The update is not good for mods unless the mods have been modified for the update and it's not save compatible.

Remove all mods and the scripts and try it, again.

Ok,can you please inform me what folders I have to access to delete this info,sorry but I'm not quite sure,would these folders be in the Steam main folder?

Have since my first thread deled Steam,reinstalled Steam and Empire with the latest patch and it still won't load,is this a Steam problem or Empire problem I am at a loss what to do,thanks.

Did you get the creative assembly folder in appdata if you are using Vista or 7?
