    Renaming method:

    - Something very simple that you can do is to copy the Third Age folder that is in your Sega/Medieval II total war/mods folder.
    - Then you rename it to something like Third_Age_vanilla or Third_Age_1.4 now just paste the folder in the same place.
    - You should have two copies of Third Age in your mods folder but you will only be able to play the one called Third_Age, now you can install the mod and play it.
    - If you want to play the unmodded Third Age again you rename your modded folder to something like Third_Age_FRoME and rename Third_Age_1.4 back to Third_Age.

    Several .bat files method (thanks to Seleukos_I):

    Just open the .bat file and the .cfg file in your new folder with notepad.
    In .cfg you'll see the following:
    Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
    [features]
    ;editor = true
    mod = mods/Third_Age
    change it to
    Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
    [features]
    ;editor = true
    mod = mods/Third_Age_FRoME

    In the .bat file you have
    Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
    cd ..\..
    start kingdoms.exe @mods\Third_Age\TATW.cfg
    change it to
    Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
    cd ..\..
    start kingdoms.exe @mods\Third_Age_FRoME\TATW.cfg

    Now play the game either by creating a new shortcut or by double-clicking the .bat file.
