can't save

I can't save or load or click the 'show me how button' when i start a new macedonian campaign

it worked once but then i restarted to see if i could replicate what i did before but to no luck

anyone know why this may be?

did you load a game, and then quit it and made your new macedonian campaign?
if so, try exiting the game and then restart your campaign and then see if you can save/load.

It's a known bug, caused by not quiting the script after playing a game. I don't know how to eliminate it, so after you've played one game you should restart to be able to start another.

but is the script still activated even thought the 'show me how' button is shaded out and can't be clicked

also randomly why has the african elephant got less hitpoints than the indian even though it's much bigger?

African elephants are split into two sub-species and these are bush and forest elephants. The bush elephants are bigger than the indians but the forest elephant wasn't.

From what I've read the bush elephants were found to be too difficult to train/tame and therefore forest elephants were used. Male forest elephants can grow to 2.5 meters high while Indians often reach 3 meters (largest recorded at 3.5 meters).

I've heard the largest approached 4m.
Obviously they don't exist anymore.

DD: Do deactivate the script you need to load up your last working save file that you could save.
Go to options.
Select reset advisor.
Quit.
Start a new campaign.

Hopefully, that should get it working. Sometimes completely exiting the game doesn't actually work. Can't quite work out if that's because I don't let the script start proper or if it's because it's still active on the other campaign (for whatever reason).

.......well I tried all that and I have still been unable to see the 'show me how' button unshaded so I guess I'll continue with my current campaign without it.

Why do you need the show me how button? I'm not sure if you are supposed to use it except through forced diplomacy. Been a while since I checked though.

This sounds like a bad situation. Ok, here's what you need to do.

First, load your last savegame that had the dates working properly.
Second, hit the escape button.
Third, hit the question mark button on the scroll.
Fourth, close out of that and go back to the game.
Fifth, click on a city.

That should start the script up again. The question mark has been hacked to be the emergency script termination.

I don't know if the Show Me How Button will ever unshade. It may not be necessary. The proof will be whether the game advances at 2 or 4 tpy.
