Hi there.
In the link posted:

there is an option under the retail edition of Imperial Edition called Unique units per retailer.
What does that mean? Do I get a pre-order unit pr. copy, meaning three copies- all three pre-order units? Or what?

yes, there is a pre-order unit. Each place where you can buy the game has another unit that you get with the game.

In my case (bol.com) you get Grand Battery of the Convention.
but you can also get Royal Scots Greys or HMS elephant.

I will buy all 4 extra pre-order units if anybody is willing to sell them.

Because my parents are nice enough to pay all my stuff , I wonder how long they keep doing that...
And I think bol.com is best choice for the Netherlands, as it's always on time with pre-orders and very good service.

I can't believe some of you are only getting a handful of preorder units. That's a total rip off.

I preordered the limited edition from Gamestop and am getting 15 additional units.

It's because you ordered the imperial/limited edition. I'm getting the Imperial Edition along with the 15 extra units too

Is it worth just waiting for the 'exclusive give me everything I missed' DLC

Probably not, because if DLC is true to form, you'll have to purchase the DLC. If you preorder, you get the DLC units for the regular price of the game.

So while some want to 'spite' CA and wait rather than preorder, you're actually spitting yourself since you'll either get the game without the preorder units, or have to pay for the units if you want them.

yeah but that is only for 1 unit. Sure they will probably release all the pre-order unit as a pack later but still.
