Do yall even have friends that play this game or its predecessors

My big brother play(ed) TW games. Don't know if he is currently playing any of them, as he had to go to Dublin (without his gaming PC) recently in order to work for IBM's Irish branch. He is only home in the weekends, but I would assume he would rather spend that time with friends than playing games.

I've got one friend who just got MTWII and its his first TW game. Other then that i dont think anyone at my school knows what TW is lol.

All the ghetto people like the FPS games. The intelligent Asians love the RPG games. Me......i'm a unique case I suppose.

Their argument:

1. RTS is too complicated. (They think command and conquer is complicated, total war is going to blow their minds a few times over)
2. RTS doesn't have much of a story.
3. Too realistic, I demand the jump-in-the-air and smack people over 9000 times combo hit-slash-jabs. (Would be pretty awesome if a "Kensai" unit in 3D was modeled for TW)
4. Takes too damn long to do one battle.
5. I don't like history.

Yeah I feel for you man. Like someone above said, none of my friends have even heard of TW. MW2 is the game that most Americans are enthralled with, and TW players are few and far between.

If CA/SEGA were really smart, they would've made an advertisement for NTW to show during the Super Bowl. I guarantee that would've done wonders and really boosted both sales and visibility of the series

Oh my yes, to the say the least chap. In fact, I have almost as many TW nuts as I have COD nuts or DoD:S nuts hanging on the horn all day trying to get jolly old Lowes to play. It is enough attention to make this old boy all "a flutter" as the kids say.

Good show on the PC views, smashing in fact! I'm inclined to agree, they are indeed superior, much like a refined gentlemen makes a coal-smeared chimney sweep look like a chimpanzee, not to banter with the working class o' course.

I got one of my friends hooked on ETW. I shown him one battle where my arty peppered a marching regiment, that was all it took HA. I should have told him I used darthmod to get such large units...and blood(makes me cringe a bit to see that actually)

My friends want me to play COD4 online, but really I cant get into FPS' no REAL strategy to it...just adrenaline. Adrenaline gets old fast.

That could turn out disastrous, CA would not have to make great games anymore. Afterall why make something great when good sells better? (The WII comes to mind)

Nobody I know of plays any TW games or any other video games and would prob verbally abuse me if they found out I played a pc video game.

I only know one in real life(from work) who played RTW ,but hes a casual PC gamer unfortunately and he switches between new games like i change underwear!

For the rest all people(mostly kids) i know who Do play games, only play on PS and Xboxes and all that stuff

Total War (military history) lovers are defenitely a minority on this planet!!

I have a few friends who own one of the TW games. Only one Empire-owning-real-life-friend though.
A month ago I played hotseat in Third Age Total War with two friends and it was great fun I think I could gather 4-5 friends for a larger hotseat campaign

Yes, we know, the PC is superior IF you can afford to upgrade as new tech comes along and have the patience that it surely requires.

Me? The PC lost it´s premium games to consoles a long, long time ago and the only thing that kept me upgrading my rig is the Total War series; a series that was wounded fatal by Empire.

To answer the OP´s question, No, my mates only play "strategy" games made by a certain company that likes War and Crafting

so what Real Time Strategy or Turn Based Strategy game would you recommend for PS3 or xbox360... PS attempt at civilization was an utter catastrophe... so what others are there... start naming good titles for those two game types and I'll reconsider getting a console again.

But Empire wasnt really worth the 2300 dollars I spend on my new pc.............

A lot if my friends loved Rome, but Etw and Mtw not so much. They liked the variety of Rome a lot better. They're right about that, but I still like empire.

Nope don’t know anyone who plays PC games like I do... I tried playing PS, PS 2 and PS 3, but I hate the Controller. I like mouse and keyboard/joystick. Sorry trying to uses both thumbs to aim and then press a button R1 to shoot. Come on, I get the up and down with one thumb, but trying to go side to side with other thumb. Sorry cannot get my sights on the enemy...
