The new Nvidia card drivers have made it so you cannot see trees, cities, etc on the campaign map in ETW unless you switch to shader version 2 or run in window. Will this still be an issue with NTW?

The only answer I've heard thus far from CA regarding this is that "NTW will use the same drivers as ETW", which probably means we'll have to keep using 181.22 drivers for full compatibility and stability.
believe in nothing.
What drivers are you using? The 196.21s? I am using those and do not have any such problems on the campaign map. In any case, if those problems arose only when you changed drivers, the source of the problem is more likely the drivers themselves, meaning you would have to wait for Nvidia to issue new drivers that resolve the problem. Have you tried just re-installing older drivers?
Well I have tried the 196.34, 196.21, and the 195.81 with no luck. Currently just running it in window and its fine. I havent tried going back to the 181.22 version. I am also using DMUC mod so I dont know if that has any effect. I do realize the drivers are the issue, and I was just wondering if they would still be an issue with NTW
got a laptop this week brand new and its drivers were up to date and run etw perfectly

Apparently ETW runs well on the newest drivers under Windows 7 but not on XP. For XP you will need to use older drivers.

Tosa will be missed.
I have vista 64 bit running a BFG geforce9000GTX+
I have to run ETW with older 190.62 anything higher and I get invisible cities/boats/trees ect.. Even with these drivers the game still randomly crashes every now and then.
This is the only game I'm having a problem with the new videocard drivers. All other games I've played on my PC work just fine with new drivers.
Q9550 2.83ghz 8 gigs ddr3 1600,3x GTX 280,evga 790i ultra 3way sli, Vista Ultimate 64bit
I have to use 181.22 drivers or deal with missing cities etc on the campaign map and stability issues. Playing in windowed mode with newer drivers means I have to keep going back and forth from windowed to fullscreen to fix the issues. I'm passing on NTW if CA is not going to support newer drivers with a new game I'm not even going to play. To many other good games that need newer drivers. I'm not going to play dancing drivers anymore.
My only problem for nVidia is universal for ETW games - unreadable blurry text.

I think it's ridiculous that I have to REVERT to previous drivers to make the game work. I hope they fix this problem in the event that games released this year require newer drivers.

At the event at Munich I asked Mark O'Connel this question too. First it was a little bit the answer in the direction "we can not consider all the bunch of different systems at the players etc."
Not with me ... and I was boaching the subject again and told him, that this problem is nearly at all NVIDIA cards / drivers and was reported by a bunch of players ... so far the problem is not to find at players, it is to find at the subject ETW (NTW) in conjunction with NVIDIA.
He was surprised and he will hand over this point to the staff of CA for clearing. So it will be maybe the same problem at NTW again and we will see if it will now be fixed, for ETW and NTW!
Also a funny point too in this case:
I told Mark this fact:
After release of ETW when you start the game the order was this:
Sega - Creative Assembly - Intel Inside - NVIDIA - Game Video starts with the ship etc.
After patch 1.2 or 1.3 (not sure in the moment) the situation is this:
Sega - Creative Assembly - Intel Inside - Game Video
Well, a spoilt brat who is now thinking in a special direction in the case with NVIDIA problems and the suddenly missing NVIDIA part as named above ...
Mark was ... well ... surprised after I told him this little detail.![]()

I think it's even more ridiculous that even tho a lot of players (maybe even a majority?) are facing this problem, and it's been a permanent complaint on nvidia and TW forums for months, I'm yet to see an acknowledgment or a "we're working on it" from either CA or Nvidia. Maybe they have answered, but I haven't seen it.
believe in nothing.
I see the ball in CA's court right now. Nvidia has nothing to gain by fixing this problem or anything to loose. No one is going to go out right now and buy an ATI card (which has it's own share of problems with ETW) because of this, nor would it directly influence anyone's purchase of a future Nvidia card cause ONE game refuses to work on the latest drivers.
CA on the other hand end up with people not buying their game based on the fact that it doesn't work well with Nvidia cards. I mean it's one thing to let Empire suffer this fate since it was technically working before the new driver patches, however if the same issue pops up with NTW then it's almost like they shot themselves in the foot.
Also if NTW doesn't suffer these problems then couldn't they go back and fix Empire to not have these problems too? Seems odd cause they can still make money off of Empire through DLC and such if the game was working for half the people that own it.
For me I took a gamble an upgraded from vista64 to win7 64. An havn't had as many problems with the video drivers. Still a few cliches here an there when going into game menu, such as a wierd blob next to the right of the minsters screen, but less frequent than with vista64. I'm curently using latest drivers 196.21. On 9800gt 1gig card, have 2 of them but have sli turned off. Didn't see a improvement in proformance, plus etw doesn't support sli.
I don't think CA can just cast this off as totally Nvidia's problem. No other AAA titles have this sort of problem. If anything, I would really like some sort of feedback from CA or Sega regarding this. I have a GTX280 and i get no rifles, no trees, no cities and the game becomes unplayable after a few minutes then CTD. Any top of the line NVIDA cards are having this issue. I'm shocked this issue hasn't been mentioned from the developer, NVIDIA is the largest graphic card developer...you'd think they would say "hey there's a known issue for such and such cards, go here and do this, we're working on fixing it." It's the reason i uninstalled ETW, I refuse to play switch-a-roo with my drivers because of ONE game.
EDIT:
Go here to file some feedback for Nvidia https://surveys.nvidia.com/index.jsp...70e8d4356ba631
