Default Time Intervals between each Turn

Does anybody think that the time intervals is too long? I was thinking maybe the intervals should be a few months less. A war lasts very long especially given the fact that the AI does not agree to peace deal unless you've pretty much destroyed them (there's no returning to status quo option). Given this wars last much longer than in history. If not the time intervals than the AI diplomacy.

Very true as the game only lasts 200 turns normally!

There's some mods that address that. My current campaign is modded to four turns a year and its a much better option.

My personal beef with the two turns a year is the amount of calender time it takes units to cover distance. So it takes a ship 1.5 to 2 years to cross the Atlantic ocean? C'mon.

If you think that is crazy, you should play Civ.(I still love Civ)
Turns in the beginning can take 40 years. If I wanted to invade a neighboring city four tiles away, it would take 160 years for my army to reach the gates!

No, itīs a TW-game and ho historical simulation. In reality there would be some years of war and many years of peace. But E:TW is no diplomacy game.

And as conquest is easy (compared to real history) the 200 turns are enough in most campaigns. The engine is programmed for those amount of turns.

How many years did it take to reach Mexico in Med2 TW? The crews don't die from scurvy they die from old age!
