It's my bad, as I have a clean M2TW "only" in my main directory (saves me reloading everytime I make mistakes in trying to learn to mod)which geomod want's to go to and not my Third Age installation. I will re-ajust my folders. Cheers

Brilliant, all done, many thanks...
I saw in the main Geomod thread folks deleting the data\world\maps\base map.rwm file. What is the map.rwm file and does Geomod modify it or is it a file that is derived from the other data?
Off topic, does anyone know where the desc_models_battle.txt file is? I am trying to reassign different models and want to try and find it but don't see it in the main data file..
That would be in RTW, in M2TW it is the modelDB (data\unit_models folder).
And yes it is off topic, should have been here: Text Editing and Scripting
On topic, I finally am getting it to work and making changes (moving armies around and adding mercs) but have not been able to create a lake. As it is a small one (Mirrormere) so I as it is within the region I don't need to make it a new one. Do I have to change elevation? I put in deep and shallow sea types, validate but never see any water. What am I doing wrong?
Thanks
Gigantus, I have a problem more specific to the map file you provided. When I load it into Geomod and do nothing, save it and paste it into vanilla 1.41 ( after deleting the resources and doing the addbacks) I find than rammas echor disappears. How do I get it back? I admit it's existence makes Minas Tirith and invalid target for Sauron but still it looks pretty?
P. S. It is in the imperial_campaign\descr_strat.txt as when it was replaced the walled ring came back. Maybe I should try it midgame just to frustrate Sauron after he calls a crusade on Minas Tirith....
Gigantus, I finally found what was causing so many of my problems with Geomod in one of you many obscure posts. The map.rwm file in world/maps/base is the chastity belt that has prevented me from having any real fun with this great tool. You need to add this warning in your add back note or any terrain modifications are just never seen.
The map.rwm file is automatically deleted by Geomod when you save your work. At least with the current version (6.18). Apart from that it should be basic knowledge of a mapper that changes in the maps\base folder require deleting the map.rwm file?
I have the current version but it was not updating? Also I am having problems with the strings bin convertor as well. Any fix on Rammas Echor or was this an known bug?
Did you install Python 2.6? Available here. Needed to run the converter. After instalaltion you might have to associate the PY file (right click, open with) with the Python.EXE in your installation - not the PythonW.EXE!!Also I am having problems with the strings bin converter as well
Once done, run\double click the convert_all.bat file
What exactly was not updating?I have the current version but it was not updating?
Python is working and I substitute the old desc_strat file and get working mods (Vale of Anduin still is hard to mod as it was in subfolder)
My new question is I am having errors in the log about placing my city in my new province. Other threads say it is trial and error but I moved it around and still get the error. Any idea about terrain types? I am making Buckland and it is only accessible from the north with river and forest to south. Does anyone know what the program considers a valid city tile??
Thanks
Every time I attempt to save, Geomod crashes. What might this mean?
