Default Two or three for types?

I know in a city there are 2 for types the square and the star forts, but I noticed that a single standing fort outside of a city has 3 upgrades to it? Does this mean that there's third fort type? If so what does it look like?

When building a fort with a general in the field, it starts as a wooden fort. From there is can be upgraded to a stone and later a star fort. In a city, you start out at the stone fort level. To be honest, of the three the wooden one is best since it is small enough to defend. Wall hitpoints are not a real factor since in the end the walls are coming down if the enemy has cannons.

I never played with a wooden fort but if it does not have cannons, it might not be worth it depending on whether you think cannons are good or not
What the hell happened to this WORLD?

The fort cannons suck, plus they are not always utilized by your infantry on the walls . At most they kill 100 people.
