    Default my Pontic campaign

Hey all, I started a new Pontic campaign when the release of gamma came out and this is how it's going. First off I made only three changes which is increase moral by 2 and armor by 1 to each unit, gave all the factions 100,000 denari and gave myself the original starting amount, and turned the rebel spawn off.

As far as economy goes I never went into debt just kept making money as I blitzed into Asia minor using my generals grouped, I found out the ai doesn't do very well against a horde of general's bodyguards grouped together lol as I never really lost a battle while using this tactic. The only real opposition I faced doing so was when a full stack of IGCS attacked Byzantine early in the game when there hoplites almost cost me the battle cutting through my arabarba that were blocking entrance into the town square.

Then a few towns away from capturing all of asia minor egypt attacks me. I managed to push Egypt out of asia minor with a couple of heroic victories, one where I fought a nice half stack of Egyptian's with five of my generals and maybe a unit or two of mercs. Then Thrace attacks me at Byzantine.

Then after capturing Antioch the Egyptian's keep sending full stacks to seige antioch and even a full stack bypassed antioch and attacked me at mazaka. I have been pinned down at thracian capital of seatopolis by thrace at antioch by egypt. I'm impressed they have kept me at bay for so long. I recently lost my 60 year old king defending seatopolis and am inching my way towards thrace next town but they have another full stack waiting and a full stack of egyptians is attacking antioch and I just destroyed a full stack at mazaka lol. All in all the enemy is making nice full mixed stacks very neat =).

1.Just one Question I'm trying to gain trade rights with the senate and I can't find there city?

2.I have govoner's in each of my towns they are great only problem is they can't go aboard my ships?

Do they have the social contacts trait or a variant of it?

Yes they have the social contacts trait and alot more . Thanks cv for the insight is there a particular reason why they have to stay in the city they were trained in? Everyone please feel free to post how your gamma campaigns are going. Maybe you have some screenies you would like to show.

If they are the new governors units, they cannot board ships. That may be an oversight, or it may be intentional. Either way you could fix it yourself by adding the "sea_faring" trait to the generals, but they aren't supposed to leave the city they start in anyway.

    1) The senate is not in Rome but in Carthage, that's why you have trouble locating it.

    2) Local governors are exactly what they are supposed to be: local.
They are made to help you getting better income from your cities and city defense and are not supposed to go on campaign.

Also, considering that most cities are able to train their own local governor, why would you ever bother bringing them along as they slow down your stacks?
This is especially true in anatolia and the middle east where their BG is not the most exciting...

Ahoy lads just stopping by to update you guys on how my campaign is going and have one question where do I create unit's that can have silver and gold armor? Right now I have armorer's but the unit's have a bronze sword and shield emblem on them mot silver or gold like in custom battle. Anyway Pergamon has been my capital for many turns and hasn't been touched on that front so I'm making money. Amasia has been my main army base. One turn I had 60,000 but hasn't reached passed that recently. On the Egyptian front I've made it as far as modern day Jerusalem. I've enslaved most towns, but spared certain towns such as Jerusalem but I think I'm going to occupy all cities and not chase routers and try to be chivalrous as I can handle the large Population cause I'm rich now lol.s Two full stacks of Armenian's with general's showed up and besieged Amasia and Mazaka but were cut down in 2 fun battle's by my king and and 5 other general's bodyguard's and a few infantry. I've noticed in battle the enemy will back away from you down a steep hill and wait there to be easy kill's for archer's, even worse they usually send unit's at you one unit at a time causing each unit to be routed one at a time by my cavalry, they would be much better off staying in there first spot on the hill guarded by boulder's lmao I guess I'm some what guilty for using these glitches against the ai... Although a few battle's have been a bit different on the Thracian front because in some good battle's the Thracian army would charge my line and the thracian thornakati were fierce in melee I wouldn't want to face a whole bunch of those. After taking the three key settlement's in thrace, macadonia besieges me and they have over 2 stacks coming towards my most western settlement and I barely have enough troops to hold them back from that settlement right now. Overall the ai is producing nice full stacks with good troop's, the Armenian's had mostly those heavy spearmen. I only had one solid ally which was Rome, Macedonia actully asked me for an alliance but when then turned neutral and I had that land they attacked. It's been fun so far I think I'm going to create a stack of elite units like bronze shields and chariot's and travel to a far away land.

I think the enemy if attacked should hold it's ground especially if it has pikes. But I will tey to be more fair like attack them full on right there and no pause stuff life that.

In XGM and XC only certain towns can build the highest level blacksmith. You should check the buildng window to see where you can build it. Pergamon for example is one such town. There are others like Ecbatana etc.

For silver, either a second level blacksmith plus temple of armor or weapons, and for gold, third level blacksmith plus same temple (only in regions with huge city and iron.)
