Default "Elite units of the east" indian units

I was just recently reading about the new DLC update,"elite units of the east",and while the ottoman units seem to be historicaly accurate (at least according to the osprey books),but I had never heard of "barawardis" or "poligars".Did those units really existed?

    Here's a wikipedia article about polygars: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poligars
It seems to me that they were more like a local ruler than a military unit, so possibly their depiction in the game isn't completely accurate, unless perhaps the unit is meant to represent a polygar and his bodyguard? I haven't got the DLC so don't know what the unit description says.

No idea about the Barawardis though.

So far as I can tell, it was a pay classification for a cavalry trooper, not a unit designation. Look under the paragraph heading "Do Aspa Sih Aspa" in this article: http://www.articlesbase.com/educatio...m-1487237.html Also look for books on military recruitment in the Moghul empire (sorry I can't recommend any myself: Indian military history isn't my field).

The Rajput Zamindars were real, but they were the ruling class of Rajpootna/Rajasthan.

Does anyone else think the Indian units should have darker skin.
